Twenty minutes of a sex video featuring Japanese adult actress Sora Aoi was shown publicly on a big LED screen outside a shopping mall in Pingdingshan in central China's Henan province, the local Zhengzhou Evening Express reported on June 21.

Local press reported that the incident took place around 7pm on June 19, when the footage appeared and was watched by the public on the big screen outside the mall. Pictures and video clips posted by internet users began to show up and become available for download few minutes later.
Local police also received calls of complaint and officers said that the screen belongs to a furniture store in the mall. Investigation revealed that an employee who was identified by his last name Li had connected a computer containing the material to the LED screen and played it until he was located and arrested.
Police decided to detain Li for 15 days for further interrogation and did not offer any explanation for his act.
Though sex video is officially banned in China, Sora Aoi enjoys celebrity status within the country, boasting millions of users on the country's equivalent of Twitter and making frequent public appearances.
