Cambodia suffered a third straight defeat in which they failed to score at the 2013 AFC U22 Asian Cup qualifiers in Vientiane on Saturday as Group F toppers North Korea dispatched them 3-0.
A brace from Kim Jin-hyok and a goal by Kang Nam-gwon maintained the Koreans' perfect record of four wins out of four in Laos. Meanwhile, on Saturday, China’s 1-1 draw with Thailand guaranteed them an advance from the group alongside North Korea.
Cambodia have an extremely unlikely chance of qualification to the finals round as a best third-place finisher.
They will need to overturn a nine-goal deficit against Laos in their concluding group tie tomorrow and hope Thailand slip up against bottom-enders Hong Kong. North Korea will play China for Group F bragging rights.
