Paul Wong, Athena Chu to wed this year

HONG KONG: Hong Kong singer-songwriter Paul Wong and his girlfriend of 14 years, actress Athena Chu, will be getting married at the end of this year, reported Hong Kong media.



Wong, a member of the Hong Kong rock band Beyond, expressed that he hopes Chu, who is currently five-months pregnant with his child, will marry him in style.

He also disclosed that he will work hard to earn more money in order to buy a diamond ring that is worth "at least several hundred thousand" for Chu.

"Hopefully, my manager will give me one to two months off to prepare for our wedding and spend some time together after the wedding.

"It would be meaningless to start working immediately after getting married," added Wong, who is planning to take time off after his Rockestra concert in Hong Kong in July to spend time with Chu.

While Chu wants a simple wedding, Wong shared that he would like to at least hold a grand wedding dinner since it is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Wong, who is both an excited husband-to-be and father-to-be, also revealed that he is considering getting either their baby or their dog to be the ring-bearer at their wedding.
