SINGAPORE: Aniu, Elanne Kwong, Kara Hui and the key cast members of last year's romantic comedy "The Wedding Diary" like Marcus Chin and Zhu Hou Ren, will return in its sequel "The Wedding Diary II", which will go into production on June 30.The first film revolved around the trials and tribulations of Daniel Cai (Aniu), an average Joe who marries Tina Chong (Kwong), a gorgeous woman from a wealthy family, and how the couple deals with the differences between their family cultures.
"The Wedding Diary II" will pick up shortly after where the first film left off and explore how the couple deals with the pressures of parenthood, as well as the complications that arise when their in-laws get involved.
"I am really excited to be working on 'The Wedding Diary II' and am glad to have the opportunity to work with the great team again.
"Since this is the second collaboration, I believe the tacit spirit among the team will be able to bring greater energy and sparks to the sequel," said director Adrian Teh, who also helmed the first film, in a statement to the media.
"'The Wedding Diary II' has a really fun and interesting story, so I am really looking forward to working on it!"
Shot on a production budget of S$1.2 million, "The Wedding Diary II" will also star Taiwan actress Cynthia Wang, and is scheduled to hit cinemas in February next year.
