Fresh from his unbeaten Davis Cup streak in Doha, Cambodia’s Bun Kenny survived a mid-match crisis to post a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over Australia’s Gavin Van Peperzeel in the first round of the Men’s ITF Futures at the Rama Garden Sports Complex in Bangkok yesterday.
The victory for the 21-year-old, who is currently ranked 1,130th in the world, earned him a precious ATP point, boosting his career tally to six points.
Bun Kenny will next face second-seeded South African Ruan Roelofe in the second round.
